Kenneth William Patton Aug 15, 1918 – Mar 18, 2012
Predeceased by his loving wife of seventy years, Joyce, in April 2010
and survived by his daughter, Christine and sons, Peter and Robert
grandchildren Jill, Sarah, Jenny, Alicia and Scott and 2 great granddaughters, Jasmine and Amber.

Ken was the most wonderful person, generous, loving and thoughtful who would help anyone who needed it without expecting gratitude or praise. We were so lucky to have him in our lives.
He supported charities especially RNLI as he respected the difficult work the volunteers do and the risks they take on a daily basis.

During WW2 he did his military service in the Western Desert with the light infantry. After marrying Joyce in May 1944 and his discharge from the army he worked as a bus driver, postman and driver and later as a counter clerk at Borehamwood post office and London office.

After retirement Ken and Joyce loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Canada, Australia and America as well as many places closer to home.

Dad loved a laugh and was happy serenading Mum or one of the grandkids with his funny songs, he enjoyed a flutter on the horses’ and lawn bowls.
We love and miss you, Dad (Grandad) but know you're reunited with Mum (Nanny) xxx

There once was a lady called Joyce
When I saw her she was my first choice
And at only fifteen
The prettiest I'd seen
When she said yes to my hand I rejoiced
To travel the world we were keen
Me and my gin & tonic queen
She made my heart jump
And then came the bumps
They were Peter, Robert & Christine
And the grandkids followed like a shot Jill, Sarah, Jenny, Alicia & our boy Scott and over the years many laughs, smiles and tears I've loved my dear family a lot.
My heart was broken when Joyce went
Like an angel to me she'd been sent
But I knew in my heart
Although we were apart
To be together again we were meant
And now ifs my time to go
We'll watch out for you always, you know
We're passing on the baton from
Mr & Mrs Patton
Take care, we love you, cheerio!

Until I meet you at the gates Grandad
farewell and rest in peace
Love and respect
