The RNLI saves lives at sea.

John Lawrence

In memory of John Lawrence.

John loved the sea, boats and everything that went with it. He was a supporter of the RNLI throughout his life and was a member of the RNLI enthusiasts society.

John was one of the first people to take a boat on to Canvey Island in the floods to assist the people of Canvey and has owned throughout his boating life various craft including a tug, pleasure cruisers and numerous sailboats.

Many a holiday was taken on the Thames as part of a group of local friends who used to more in Tewkes Creek.

Unfortunately John suffered with Ill health in 2011 but always kept a positive attitude and even after having his leg amputated in July still managed to get down the boatyard whenever possible.

Thank you for all your kind words and any donations to the RNLI in John's memory no matter how small will help to continue to save lifes.
