The RNLI saves lives at sea.

Harry Welburn

Picture of Harry Welburn.

Harry was 92 years when he passed away on 13th November 2011.He was a loving husband, dad, grandad and great grandad.

Harry and Ouida met in Filey in 1941. Ouida and her family had evacuated from Hull to escape the serios bombings and Harry had been sent to Filey between postings in the RAF.They married at St Oswalds church in Filey in 1944.After the war they returned to Hull.

We continue to return to Filey for family holidays each year and it has a special place in our lives. We were last there as a family in April 2011 and were blessed with some fantastic weather. We will remember this holiday with fond memories, taking Harry up and down the prom in his wheelchair.

We have received many cards and letters and Harry has frequently been described as a 'gentleman' in the true sense of the word. He truly was a gentle man.

His final resting place will be in Filey, a place of happy times and fond memories. and we will visit him often.

God bless you.
