Remembering always my darling husband Doug who sadly died 3rd November 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer and COPD. He never complained and remained positive even though we knew his cancer was terminal.

Doug joined the Royal Navy after he left school. he always said these were the very best years of his life and he got to see so much of the world. The ships he served on, among others, were HMS Lynx, HMS Nubian and HMS Wizzard during the 60's.

We met in 1986 and married in 1988 and had a lovely life with each other. We liked spending a lot of time together in our home and enjoyed our holidays abroad, especially to the Greek islands. We liked weekend away in the UK to Skipton, York, and Chester.

Doug loved Sunderland AFC and in the earlier years used to go the some of the football matches. During his later years he liked to listen to as many matches as he could on the radio.

He also loved music, especially conutry. His favourite singers were Johnny Cash, Brenda Lee, Neil Diamond, although he liked a lot of other singers too. He has many many CD's and DVD's which we used to play on a Saturday night while having a glass or two of wine.

Doug was hard working, patient, kind, sensitive, gentle, funny - he was my soulmate and is irreplaceable. His work friends told me how he was always joking and larking around with them, just enjoying life.

Miss you always darling.
Lots of love from Wife Joan
