Sheila Trainer

Also known as: Mrs T.

Picture of Sheila Trainer.

In loving memory of Sheila, a loving wife to Tommy and much loved mum to Margaret, Julie and Linda, Mother in law to Peter,Andrew and Ron and loving sister to Pat, Chappy and the late Peggy.

This peom reflects how Sheila will be remembered by her grandchildren.

Gran we love you and we’ll miss you so much.
We loved all the cuddles and your tender touch.
There’s just a few things we wanted to say
As on to heaven you make your way.

We'll always remember those times as a child
When we came to your house, and, oh how we smiled
To Ellersley on Sundays we would all come
For tea and for swimming and family fun.

But not just tea, there was always a spread
There was never a time, when we weren't all well fed.
Booty bags, ice cream floats and puddings we’d get.
While Freddy the fox and Sammy Squirrel we met.

Decorations and lights “it’s like Santas Grotto” we’d cheer
Christmas really was your favourite time of year.
You’d hide our Christmas pressies all round the school
You helped make our childhoods so happy and full.

Knitting was one of your favourite past times.
The click clack of needles we remember the rhyme.
Jumpers and scarves and cardies you’d form
All colours and sizes to keep us all warm.

You loved to travel to distant lands afar
From Bali to Egypt, by plane bus or car.
Adventurous you were to see many things
We hope you see more with your new special wings.

Plants and tomatoes you loved to grow
You were green fingered it really did show.
Beautiful orchids you liked and birds you did tend
And we know how much you loved your four legged friends.

You worked at the laundry known as Mrs T.
You’ve been called Sheila and Mum but Gran you’ll always be.
The youngest of us calls you Granny Shoes
That made you laugh when you felt a bit blue.

Your laughter we remember when jokes were told
The dirtier the better and you were sold.
Innuendo was found in the simplest of things
‘made you blush’ we would hear you sing.

From the big TV you watched the world go by
Enjoy that bigger TV you can now see from the sky.
Gran we love you and we were so blest
We’re so glad we knew you, you were simply the best.
