The RNLI saves lives at sea.

Blanche Payne

Picture of Blanche Payne.

Born in Gillingham Kent to a naval family during the Great War and having to leave family at fourteen to go into Service, life was never easy for Blanche. Those experiences did however provide material for the wealth of stories with which to regail her children in later life.
Surviving the blitz in Plymouth she was and remained a sociable person throughout her long life, always ready for a chat and a cuppa.
Despite adversity Blanche remained a woman of spirit.
She will be much missed, especially by her children Chris and Corina. Rest in peace dear Mum.
