The RNLI saves lives at sea.

Walter Dyble

Picture of Walter Dyble.

Walter was my uncle and his life involved the sea in his younger days as fisherman and as a sailor in the Royal Navy during the war. His father was a lifeboatman at Winterton-on-Sea. In his later life he became a gardener. and worked for Great Yarmouth Council. He was married for 72 years to Caroline and he lived to the ripe old age of 95 years. He lived all his married life in Caister-on-Sea. He was always ready for a yarn and spent many happy hours talking about old times. He was busy right up till the end even mending nets for people during the last few weeks. His daughter Barbara and her family, miss him much as so do I.
