The RNLI saves lives at sea.

Picture of Gladys Wiles.

My mam lived to be 90 years and 1 day old. She was a very strong willed family woman who knew exactly what she wanted and made sure she got it. She was married to my dad Albert and had 3 children, the late Stuart, Keith and myself (in laws Jenny, Irene and Paul). She had 1 grandson Gary, 4 Granddaughters, Jane, Claire, Lisa, Lynn and 3 Great Granddaughters, Amy, Megan and Lara. Unfortunately she died 7 weeks before her Great Grandson Daniel was born. She was a supervisor at Humbrol in Hull for many years. Dad died when she was 68 and she mourned him for several years until she had her knee replaced when she was 79. She started to live her life again and went to many over 55 clubs and made new friends. She even went abroad with them. My mam has seen so much change in the world since she was a little girl. Some of it was a bit to advanced for her but, she made sure that she was happy and her family were happy. My mam stated that if anything should happen to her that we arranged for a collection for RLNI because when Stuart died he was just about to join the RNLI as a volunteer at Filey.

We all miss her very much and only hope that we will share a brandy with her again one day!!!
