Trevor James Herbert, 4 October 1939 - 5 June 2008
Our brother, Trevor James Herbert, Was born in Bexleyheath, Kent. and spent his early days in Charlton, London then in the Maidstone Kent area. He died in Maistone Hospital within a week of being diagnosed of lung cancer. Trevor was the eldest son of Samuel and Florence (nee Sandoe) Herbert and step son of John Montague a Freeman of the Thames, who he called dad. Trevor was proceeded by younger brothers Stephen and Malcolm and is survived by his sisters Jill and Angela and his wife Renee. Our brother Trevor took on the role of father figure to his siblings following the untimely death of his Dad. Trevor apprenticed as a printer at the Kentish Mercury and later owned his own printing company business, Thames Business Forms in Crayford. Trevor and his wife were foster parents to a number of youngsters and looked forward to visits from his young relatives. He liked to visited his relatives in Canada and did so on a number of occasions .
Trevor always enjoyed a game of chess, cards, darts, cribbage or shove halfpenny in his "local" or a lively discussion.
"Even in sadness we feel pride in the legacy left by someone so special. That spirit will continue to shine lighting the way for others leaving all of us an example to follow and a remarkable life to remember with grateful hearts."

He will be sadly missed by his Canadian connection, Jill, Peter, Jon, Catherine, Andrew, Elizabeth, Alexander, Monique, Steven, Kurtsten, Sarah and his many relatives and friends in England.
Rest in peace Trevor, you earned it.
