Michael John Nicol, known as Mick, was born in Bilston, Wolverhampton on the 23rd February 1947.
Mick had suffered from emphysema for many years and this made him susceptible to infections but he was always doing something and was very active.
Just two months ago Mick achieved his dream of living by the sea. He and Chris moved to Bognor Regis to a lovely bungalow there. The garage was full of boxes and on a very cold day Mick decided to unpack them and arrange everything in their new home while Chris was at work. He even put up Christmas lights in the hedge. The cold weather took its toll on Mick and although he had pains in his chest he wouldn’t go to the doctor.
Chris eventually had to call an ambulance and Mick was taken to St. Richard’s Hospital in Chichester where he was found to have pneumonia. Mick passed away on the 22nd December 2009 at the age of 62, his dream of living by the sea realised but sadly short lived.
