The RNLI saves lives at sea.

Raymond Liddington

Also known as: My Uncle Ray....

My uncle Ray (D.O.B. December 1, 1929) was a generous, kind, loving, and out going person. He loved to travel, especially to Greece for holidays. He truly enjoyed being around family and celebrating life as families tend to do. Unfortunately for me, I left Wales at almost 13 years of age to come to Canada to live. I have remained in Canada only visiting Wales on three occasions since. My uncle and I did keep in touch by telephone, cards and other writings over the years. Throughout most of his adult life he served as a member of the Royal Navy. I still to this day have very found memories of him in his uniform as he arrived at our house, 11 Glan Ebbw Terrace in Abertillery, Wales, on leave. Upon retiring from the navy he did a number of jobs, mostly around baking and cooking. For a while he ran a very successful restaurant. As years went by he gently folded into retirement life and did more travelling. He passed away in hospital on August 24, 2009... I will miss him...
