The RNLI saves lives at sea.

Jean Mather

Also known as: Jean Stead Jean McConnell.

A lifelong lover of the sea and an avid supporter of the RNLI, despite living about as far from the sea as anyone can in the UK. She was a member of the RNLI in Bakewell for many years and regularly fund raised on their behalf.

She had hoped to one day buy a lifeboat but her life was cut short at 59. She was able to make a bequest to the RNLI so at least a little bit of a lifeboat somewhere is thanks to her.
