The RNLI saves lives at sea.

There was nothing that Paul loved more than to scuba dive off boats all round Briton, fish and to eat his own catch (mostly scallops, I believe!)

But there were many facets to Paul: the loving husband, the dear son, father, grandfather and the truly great friend to many people.

He also loved to drink red wine, and to ride his Harley Davidson, he was a computer expert, house builder, property manager and canny financial wizard. The superlatives go on.

To each of us, he was very dear, and we all have our personal memories.

For my own part, he was best man at my wedding and one of our closest friends. Among the things I remember the most, was he was a bon viveur, a raconteur, an often hilarious and cheeky showman. Especially when he had had a glass of wine or few!

For all his no-nonsense attitude to life, Paul was one of the few truly kind, generous people I have ever met. If his friends needed him, nothing was too much trouble. Be it DIY, a spot of plumbing, fixing a computer, Paul would always help. (And I think nearly all of his friends have asked for his help at one time or another!) He even drove to my house in the middle of the night when I was in labour with my second child. I cannot think of many of my friends who would do that.

The RNLI was a cause very close to his heart, so we would like to dedicate this page to Paul’s memory. May he rest in peace.
