Joyce Palmer

Picture of Joyce Palmer.

My dear sister Joyce was a lovely gentle lady who passed away on December 28th 2008 after along illness so courageously born. Married to Alick, (Pom to many of us,) for 56 years.

Together they supported the R.N.L.I. collecting door to door in 1960/1970’s, and in Eastleigh on R.N.L.I. fund raising days.

Joyce was a great gardener and together they hosted many R.N.L.I. coffee mornings in their garden in Pitmoor Road.

As she became less active, support for R.N.L.I. continued with gifts and cards from the fundraising catalogue and donations from their Golden Wedding party.

Joyce was a talented craftswoman making all her own clothes and mine when I was a little girl. Her special talent was wedding dresses, making her own and mine, and Julie’s, her daughter–in-law, besides many others.

A very active member of the W.I. she shared her talent with fellow members in many different crafts.

I miss my lovely sister very much, she was always there to share the good and the bad times with her support and love. I know my brother–in–law Pom feels the same but we give thanks for having had such a lovely person in our lives.

Joyce’s loving sister, Doff.
