We are all at different stages on our journey through life. Our paths are varied and we look at life in different ways. But there is one thing we all have in common, at one point or another, and to some degree or other, our lives have been touched by the life of Gloria and when we find someone who is brave, fun, intelligent and loving, we just have to thank the universe.

Gloria was one of those special people who made a difference in our lives, simply by being who they are.

They make the world a little brighter warmer and gentler, and when they are gone we realise how truly lucky we are to have known them.

The Parable of Immortality

I stand upon the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze
and starts for the blue ocean.

She is an object of beauty and strength,
I stand and watch until at last
she hangs like a speck of white cloud
just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says,
" There she goes! "

Gone where?

Gone from my sight . . . that is all.

She is just as beautiful and strong
as she was when she left my side
and just as able to bear her load of living freight
to the place of destination.

Her diminished size is in me, not in her.

And just at the moment when someone at my side says,
" There she goes! " there are other eyes watching her coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout . . .

" Here she comes! "
