Picture of Walter Wood

I wish to record the sad death of my last surviving Uncle on 1st July 2013, aged 91. During WWII he served with distinction in the Royal Navy on their Motor Launches and was awarded the DSM.

He was brought up in Sittingbourne in Kent and in 1943 married my mother's sister Teresa who survives him as does their only son, Stuart.
They have more recently been living in Tonbridge.

For most of his working life after the war, Walter worked for Olivetti, the business machine makers on their sales force.

His funeral service was held in Tunbridge Wells with military honours and his great admiration for the work of the RNLI was made known.
