Appreciation For Andy Viner By Caroline Hornigold

I've just discovered this site....I was remembering Andy Viner and his family with my daughter who attended the local village school with one of Andy's daughters .
I remember one particulary grey, icy and overcast afternoon in Wheathampstead. I was waiting for the bus to take me in to town. After a long and fruitless wait I noticed a huddled over figure coming towards me. Andy ...complete with gloves, hat and beard ! He explained that he had been out for a walk to 'blow the cobwebs away' andf asked how long I had been waiting for the bus. Amazingly thoughtful ,kind and considerate he offered me a lift in to town if I would join him for the rest of the walk home. so appreciated I can tell you!Of course if you knew andy you would know this actof kindness not to be out of character . I know this post is a long time after the fact...but I have never forgotten that day...Thank you Andy . xxx
