Appreciation For Michael Heath By Marcus Blake

Picture of 'Michael Heath' provided by Marcus Blake

Having known Mike since University in the 80s the one word that comes to mind when I think him is courage.

He was courageous to return to uni after serious ill-health during his first year.

He was courageous to take on the responsibility of Union President a few years later.

He was courageous in how he developed his accounting career (after a few false starts with some dodgy employers).

He was courageous in how he lived his life and how he approached his death.

He was incredibly loyal to his friends and as others have said he had a style (brogues, black jeans, striped shirt and tweed jacket) and wit that was all his own.

I will not forget him...
