Appreciation For Philip Thomas By John Mackay

Picture of 'Philip Thomas' provided by John Mackay

Sorry to learn about Phill
I first met him may years ago, through my father Jim Mackay who was invoilved with the model boat clubs and was friendly with him.
I have enclosed photo of my dad (far right) with the troon life boats. The small model he made for the station, his radio controlled model and the full size boat with members of the crew.
The dad passed away last December 2007 and at his funeral we had a collection for the RNLI which he would have approved.
My sympathy goes out to the Thomas family and Im sure my dad and Phill will still be sitting discussing the merits of the boats as they did on many a Sunday afternoon.
Regards John mackay
