The RNLI saves lives at sea.

Appreciation For Rona Bowman By Keith Knowles

It's funny how you meet people in your life and they never leave your thoughts.

I meet Rona on the Discovery on the Thames in 1976. She was to say the least a very charismatic lady, full of life and energy. She got me into sub Aqua diving and I joined her club, meet new friends, developed news skills. I think this is what Rona did best, coneceted people from all walks of life and made you feel welcome and accepted.

It may have taken me some time to write this, but I do think of Rona often, along with the many inspirational people I met when I was a scout, not just a scout, but a Sea Scout !

I am sure we will a meet again one cold evening and Rona will be there with her special hot chocolate and her cheeky grin !

Sail on beautiful lady
