The RNLI saves lives at sea.

Appreciation For Rona Bowman By Luke Van Beek

Funnily enough my most vivid memory of Rona is peeling potatoes onboard Discovery as part of the crew. I think we also pulled a whaler on the Thames! We competed as teenagers, became firm friends later. Rona came out to Gibraltar to see me and happily carried, as hand luggage, a windsurfer mast.
Sadly in later years we didn't see as much of each other. There was one memorable weekend when Rona joined me for a regatta in the Solent: we were short handed, it poured with rain all weekend, was rough and I persuaded Rona to be bowman. Her relience, sense of humour and a few choice words came through!
A great loss; you will be missed.
