The RNLI saves lives at sea.

Appreciation For Rona Bowman By Anne Branscombe (kendall)

When Rona moved to Gosport she was already a well loved family friend, through Sea Rangers and sailing together on Spirit of Discovery, Swiftish and Tipsy B.

Along with many other scouts Rona used to visit my Nan on the Island at Hampton.

She and Joe enjoyed entertaining my children- Graham and Michelle and our friendship survived despite this !.

Rona adopted my Mum, and spent many hours, chatting, gardening, and taking Mum out.

When Mum became ill, Rona helped me care for her, and when Mum ended up in hospital, they thought Rona was one of her daughters, we weren’t going to correct them and in fact Rona was the last person to see Mum alive!

Mum always said she wanted four boys, but she ended up with four girls !

One of my most enduring memories of Rona will be of her taking Bobby, a rather small Yorkshire Terrier, for "walkies" in the bicycle basket with Snoopy running alongside...!

I will miss Rona as a sister and dear friend.
