The RNLI saves lives at sea.

Appreciation For Rona Bowman By Peter Kennedy

One of the many memories I have of Rona is at Easter some years ago.
We had left Weymouth in SOD, bound for Lulworth. It was snowing!
Finding Lulworth was difficult, but we made the effort because Rona and her diving club were diving there and we had agreed we would pop in.
As we went into Lulworth, divers waved at us, not in alarm but in welcome. Later Rona and a couple of friends sailed with us round to Poole. Some people might have called it a moving boat party!!

Thirty years on, last November, Rona, along with my Mary colluded in contacting my friends from the old days in order to spring a surprise 60th birthday party at the Docks for me. This task she had taken on with great relish and fun, every time that night I caught her eye, there was that mischievous grin that said “gotcha”.

She was my, and everybody else’s special friend.
Thanks Rona, we will miss you, remember you and smile.
