Jeffrey Malton

Send to a Friend

My father Jeffrey Malton died on May 11th 2012 just prior to his 93rd birthday on May 15th. Dad was a pilot but during a mission he had to return to his airbase due to a perforation of his ear drum. The injury left him with permanent damage to his hearing although he remained in active service as a test pilot.
He flew over 40 models of plant including the Hurricane, Lancaster, Tiger Moth, and his all time favourite the Spitfire especially the Mark X11. Planes were one of his main passions and he continued to fly for many years after leaving the RAF and the Spitfire always remained close to his heart. Jeff was demobilised in February 1946 with the rank of Flight
Lieutenant.
He will be remembered by his family and friends as the
"true English gentleman". He was kind, thoughtful and gentle and was loved by all who knew him. He will be truly missed.
