Flt Lt John L Hindle D.F.C. (11.7.1920 - 5.10.2010)

Jack (sometimes 'Jimmy') trained in Canada & U.S.A. 1941 returned to U.K. to complete training - finally posted to 4 Group Bomber Command Yorks joining 158 Squadron. He completed 38 missions flying from Lissett and Driffield. He also flew in the inaugaural flight for 640 Squadron based at Leconfield. After his second tour of Ops he was awarded the distinguished Flying Cross. A short training, and then posted as Adjutant to the Air Sea Rescue Unit based on Sicily until demobbed in June 1946. We married in August 1946, 64 happy years together. Jack remained interested and proud of 158 and 640 Squadrons, attending their reunions. We are very proud of him.
