My father joined the RAF volunteer reserve between 1944-1945 and was training to be an airgunner on the American B24 and as such visited canada, he was also stationed in london for a while during the doodle bug
raids.
As a child he often told me of his adventures in the RAF, this got me interested in aviation and as a result i built many an Airfix Kit! I miss my farthers
little tales even though he told the same ones time and time again!, he sometimes felt he did not do his bit because the war ended before he finished his training, i disagree, after all he did volunteer.
