Fate/Ongoing Career: Retired as Air Chief Marshal 1-3-63

Interesting Facts: Born 28-10-05. In Royal Artillery between the wars, but moved to RAF, MiD for service on North West Frontier, AFC 1-2-37. CO of 111 Squadron from 1-39, DFC 2-1-40. At HQ 11 Group from 1-40, then commanded 60 Wing in France, credited with shooting down one EA, then Station Commander at Wittering, flying some B of B sorties. Later commanded Hornchurch, achieving much success flying with the Hornchurch Wing. DSO 4-7-41, bar 19-12-41. Achieved further success during Dieppe raid. Bar to DFC 29-9-42. AOC Allied Air Forces Western Desert, commanded 83 Group Allied Expeditionary Air Force. CV 1944, KBE 1945. KCB 1955, GCB 1960. AOC in C Bomber Command 1956-59. On 1-1956 was co-pilot in Vulcan that crashed at Heathrow, "Broady" was one of two survivors.
