Fate/Ongoing Career: Retired 1-6-74 as Air Vice-Marshal

Interesting Facts: Born 20-11-19 "Birdy". Badly injured in crash 19-9-38, operated on four times by McIndoe. Successes flying from France and over Dunkirk. DFC 24--9-40, the day on which he was shot down by Galland and burned. After Battle commanded 152 and 66 Squadrons 122 Wing, Harrowbeer Spitfire Wing and Bentwaters Mustang Wing. Bar to DFC 29-10-43, DSO 9-1-45, bar 1-1-55 CBE 1962.
