Interesting Facts: Born 21-2-10. Lost both legs in flying accident 1931. CO of 242 in Battle, often led "Duxford Wing", B of B ace. Later led Tangmere Wing. PoW from 9-8-41. Led first B of B flypast over London 1945. DSO 1-10-40, DFC 7-11-41 bar to DSO 15-7-41, bar to DFC 9-9-41, CBE 1956. KBE 1976. Inspirational figure to disabled people.
