Alan Charles Knibbs

20th May 1948 - 7th July 2009

Dad passed away suddenly on the 7th July whilst on holiday with Mum in Norfolk.

My Dad was never in the RAF but anything to do with planes was the main interest of his life.

He used to be a lorry driver and there were many times he would take a de-tour via an airfield so he could eat his sandwiches watching the planes and he visited many airshows with his mate George.

Dad’s enthusiasm has been passed onto his son who has taken up his Dad’s position at the end of the runway. Me, I joined the RAF in 2000 and many a time he would ring up to discuss what had flown that day.

He has been a supporter of the RAFBF for many years. All family and friends religiously were sent aircraft Christmas Cards, my Mum now has to carry on the tradition.

Dad will be sadly missed by all who knew him but he would be pleased to know that the donations received in his memory by friends and family will help to provide support for service personnel and their dependants.
