Flight Lieutenant John Lawry; Personnel Number 117476
Served as Air Observer Navigator and from 1942 as Bomber leader as part of Bomber Command.
He served with:
12 Squadron, Binbrook/Wickenby (1942)
199 Squadron (1942), Blyton/Ingham/Lakenheath
44 (Rhodesia) Squadron (1944) Dunholme Lodge/ Spilsby

Following completion of his second tour he went to West Freugh, Scotland, in 1945 and was posted to RAF Grimsetter, Orkney from Sept 1945 to April 1946. His last day of service 3rd June, 1946.

John Lowry was a loyal friend of the RAF family who passed away on the 17th of March, 2008.

The First picture is of John taken in 1943 in the garden of Box House, Axminster and the second with his family in 2006.
