Harold (Mick)was in 271 Squadron, based at Down Ampney. He started out as a wireless air gunner and went on to be a FL/L. He was in Operation Market Garden and did a very brave thing during it to which I am told he should have been awarded a medal. He was also in Operation Normandy and Operation Seekout amoungst others. Some of the stories he told were comical. They were about Billy the Squadron dog or Jimmy Edwards who Harold flew with or the story about when Mae West was his passenger. Sadly he passed away in 1986 leaving behind his Wife Agnes (Aggie)(now deceased) his Daughter Anne and Grandaughter Katie whom now has three children. God Bless Harold. Miss you very much. Love you x x x
