Friends and Relations

our commitment to charity

Everyone who visits friends and has the opportunity to make a real difference to the quality of life of others. This is achieved through direct links to charities from our website, with 100% of funds being received by the charity nominated.

When a charity is nominated it is shown on that person’s page on our website. Before launching this service we spent many hours meeting with senior representatives of some the UK’s leading charities who helped us create this service for charities as a whole. We would like to thank these charities - as shown below - for their time, expertise and advice.

If there is a charity that you would like to support that is not listed then after a celebration page has been created please telephone our support team - +44 (0)  1872 226800 who will take the details, get in touch with the charity and make the appropriate link.

ABF The Soldiers' Charity

In return, The Soldiers’ Charity give them down-to-earth help and friendship, with no hassle or bureaucracy. We help in ways that make a big practical difference to individuals. For example a level access shower for an amputee from a current conflict or care home fees for an elderly veteran. That's what we've been here to offer for the past 66 years and will be here for as long as there is a need.

Barnardo’s is the UK’s biggest children’s charity. We support the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people. Every year, Barnardo’s helps transform the lives of more than 190,000 children, young people and their families. At Barnardo’s, we believe in children regardless of their circumstances, gender, race, disability or behaviour. We believe in the abused, the vulnerable, the forgotten and the neglected. We will support them, stand up for them and bring out the best in each and every child. We do this because we believe in children. Barnardo’s runs more than 800 vital services across the UK. Our services include counselling for children who have experienced sexual exploitation, support for young carers, fostering and adoption services, vocational training and disability inclusion groups. Every Barnardo’s service is different but each believes that all children and young people deserve the best start in life, no matter who they are, what they have done or what they have been through.
We use the knowledge gained from our direct work with children to campaign for better childcare policy and to champion the rights of every child, especially those who are easiest to ignore. With the right help, committed support and a little belief, even the most vulnerable children can turn their lives around. Barnardo’s is regulated by the Charity Commission (England 216250 and Scotland SC037605). Being a registered charity means that we must always be accountable and transparent.
