The Corps of Royal Engineers

(1917 - 2011)

 

Born in Leith, Edinburgh. Sheet metal worker by trade. Served as welder & Field Engineer in Italy & Egypt 1948-1952.
Lived in Cheltenham from 1952. Worked at Gloucester Aircraft Company, Douglas Equipment, Vibixa, Cheltenham Racecourse and was the eponymous patron of Anderson's Coffee House in Cheltenham. 'Retirement' was not a word in his vocabulary!
Passed away suddenly but peacefully aged 94 years. Beloved widower of Joyce and very special Dad of Yvonne, Susan & Helen, Grandad of Rachel, Karen, Christopher, Kirsty, Tori, Georgina, Thomas & Jack; Great-Grandad of Jamie & Phoebe.

"To maintain the objects of the Association by promoting and supporting the Corps, affording assistance to its members and their dependants, and making donations to Army charities"

The Royal Engineers Association was formed under the conditions of a Deed of Declaration of Trust by the amalgamation of the original Royal Engineers Association and the Royal Engineers Benevolent Fund Ltd on 19 November 1968.
