The Corps of Royal Engineers

(1900 - 1962)

 

Harry served as a Sapper in the 150th Field Co of Royal Engineers (Ulster Division) from 1915 to 1919 Theatre of War - France and then in the Supplementary Reserves until 1931. He was later a member of the Crewe Branch of the Old Commrades Association. He was awarded 1914/15 Star, The British War Medal and the Victory Medal. He served in France in 1915.

Harry was my maternal Grandfather and also served in the Royal Ineskillen fusilers.
He was grew up in county Armagh Northern Ireland and come to england to work in the railway works in Crewe as a wheelwright and coachbuilder.
