Michael (Mick) joined the REs in 1971 as a Sapper. Following time in the Territorials (in this respect he was following the example of his father who had served with the Sapper in WW2, after training, Mick then volunteered for parachute training, and served with 9PARA - the famous Airbourne Sapper Sqn. Then undertook CDO training for service with 59Ind Cdo Sqn. His physical prowess then led to selection as one of the Training Team in the famous RM 'All Arms Cdo Course'. Leading by example and wearing either the red or green beret. With 59 Cdo RE.H sailed to the Falkland Isle in April 1982, was attached to 2Para for the initial landings and the assault on Goose Green where he was tragically killed.

Sadly missed by family and friends, and all who served with him.
