Edward John Hoare or Granddad as i better knew him was a outstanding figure. Who after my father left stepped in and was the perfect role model for myself whilst i was growing up proud ,fair and loveing is how i would describe him i only let him down once and that was by joining the Royal Air Force though i am sure he was proud as punch on my passout day parade despite me being a blue job. The Taunton Branch REA reports with great sadness the passing of Ted Hoare on the 31st March 2010 at the age of 101. His family and many friends, including REA Branch Members and the REA Controller Lt Col (Retd) John McLennan gathered on the 16th April 2010 for his farewell. Aaron Handoll writes [28th April 2012]:
