Mrs Hilda Tonks writes [4th January 2010]:

Alan died on the 13th September after a battle with lung cancer, he leaves a wife, son and daughter along with 7 grandchildren and 4 great grand children. Alan loved his garden and spent many hours a day looking after his plants. He was a very family man and loved to spend time with the grand children.
