Frank Bartlett’s long and successful career, verified by being appointed MBE, substantiates the image portrayed of an athletic physique and sharp mind. I use the term ‘portrayed’ as, to my deep regret, I never had the pleasure of meeting Frank. I did however have the great fortune of marrying his niece who I met when I was serving at Invicta Park Barracks. It subsequently became apparent that Frank had served there some 35 years previously.
