14558748 Aged 92 In September 44 he went to Arnhem an Op Market Garden with 9 Fd Coy RE. Will be sadly missed by his daughter Ann, family and friends.

Robert (Bob) was my father, born on 19 April 1916 in New Luce Scotland and brought up in Ayr. He was a surveyor working for the Ordanance Survey for 40 years.During his National Service he became a sergeant in the RE attached to the airborne forces, firstly glider borne, deploying at Arnhem, then following his parachute training at Ringway, Manchester a paratrooper.He always joked that he was the only sergeant in the british army who had a general under his command as he was stick commander and ...
