I was the MT L/Cpl at Engineer Base Group in 1954 to 1956 I knew him quite well and his daugher Barbara. She used to come to my office with requests for transport. He was very well liked by all.
Much loved grand father who brought joy and laughter to all our family gatherings. His stories about India, Egypt and Cyprus were a main stay of my childhood. I wish I had appreciated them then, as I would appreciate them now. Love you, Grandad, you are missed every day. X Ian Carter writes [7th February 2011]:
