477406 Died as a result of a skiing accident. Sadly missed by his family and friends. Former Life Member of the REA Headquarters Branch.

I had the pleasure of serving with Bill Van Orden twice - he was my Troop Commander for a while in 57 Trg Sqn RE at Cove, Farnborough and a couple of years later my 2IC in 43 Field Support Squadron in Osnabrück. To think that our first meeting was 45 years ago, how time flies! Plus, I once had the pleasure of meeting his brother, G.C. Van Orden, who was with the Intelligence Corps. My commiserations to his family.

So sorry to hearof Bills' tragic death.
i worked closely with him when at Fairey Engineering in the early eighties, and enjoyed his company bery much. He was extremely helpful at the start of my career.
