Arthur and I were Standard Bearers for the Royal British Legion Monfieth Branch. He taught me everything I knew about Standard Bearing, and a lot more besides. He was the Smartest and Proudest Standard Bearer on Parade, and no matter how hard I tried to keep up, his kit and turnout was always so much better than mine. We travelled to many parades all over Scotland and had some great times. Participating in the Beating the Retreat at Edinburgh Castle was always a highlight of our year.
