Appreciation For Michael Heath By Kevin & Sally Smith
"Hello clouds, hello sky", the morning ritual that heralded Mike's arrival in the office.
I first met Mike when I came for my interview at Systematic, his new hammock had just been delivered and he was busy in the car park trying to get the parts into Pierre the Peugeot. Later, after I joined the company I got to know Mike well with daily lunchtime visits to Starbucks where I enjoyed his dry wit, lively conversation and hearing his plans for his next sailing trip.
Sally and I have spent the evening looking through the photos we have of Mike, remembering the good times at parties and days out. We will never forget his singing on the bus journey back to the hotel after one Christmas party or his Biggles outfit at the Goodwood Revival Meet.
Mike approached the last few months with great bravery and fortitude, which was truly inspirational.
Our lives were made richer for knowing him and will be emptier without him.
Fair winds and a following sea our friend.
