Appreciation For Rona Bowman By Seamus Donnelly
1977 The Spithead review was on and we were bound for Alderney. Walking a long the beach in Alderney we see a young lad on a lilo being blown away from the beach and out to sea. The mother of the lad was distraught and could not swim, Rona and the rest of the crew launched into the sea and used their water polo skills swiming at a fast past to resucue the boy. The boy was rescued just in time and today has Rona and the team to thank for his rescue.
Boxing day rows --Chatham meets-- a great time on Discovery and Docklands.
Its time for a rest Rest in Peace
