Appreciation For Those Commemorated By The RNLI Memorial By Dave Campbell
I wish to thank the RNLI for their recognition of all who ,with disregard to their own safety and lives, launched their Lifeboats in horrendous conditions for extended periods of time to rescue their fellow Seamen. My Grandfather , George Campbell of Stromness Orkney was one of those men.Like men who went to War,we can never pay the debt owed for such courage. My Grandfather died a year later of complications experienced from a two day rescue near Scapa Flow.
