The RNLI saves lives at sea.

Appreciation For Corbett Haselgrove Spurin By Surinder Randhawa

Corbett was a magnificent mentor and friend to me and provided an inspirational figure for me through my University years and indeed far beyond.I will always remember him with great affection and with the highest regard.

He was readily accessible to all via the telephone or one could drop in at his home at any time without fear of being turned away. Perhaps Corbett's greatest quality was his humility, despite excelling in everything he turned his hand to, he always had a kind word or humorous anecdote for us lesser mortals.

The last time i saw Corbett was perhaps in late November 2008, i had dropped in on him at home and was introduced to his beautiful grandchildren. I could see in his eyes the pride and love that he held for them as he played with them.

God Bless you Corbett your tenacity, drive and love for your family, friends and students constitute a legacy that will endure in the hearts of so many that were privileged to have been touched by you.
