The Fire Fighters Charity

I'll be updating this over the next few days and weeks as well as adding photographs.

Jimmy was my father and served for many years in the Tyne and Wear Fire Service latterly as a Divisional Officer. He was actively involved in the Benevolent Service as it was then known.

Jimmy passed away on July 16 1984.

His wife Olive passed away on November 6 2011.

They leave two daughters; Susan and Helen and are both hugely missed.

Added by: Helen Thompson on 12 November 2011.

charity information

Every year, thousands of fire fighters are injured whilst protecting the public. Every 30 seconds in the UK, fire fighters are called to an incident, putting their lives on the line, and often sustaining physical injuries whilst carrying out their duties. The Fire Fighters Charity is here for fire fighters during their times of need, and assists thousands of individuals every year, by providing pioneering treatment and support services.
