Died 6th October 2009 aged 86. He served in the Local Authority Fire Services from 1946 until 1976, brigades included Lowestoft, Yorkshire East riding, Lincoln and Hereford and Worcester. From 1976 until 1988 he served as a Fire Officer for the Gwent Area Health Authority.
