The Fire Fighters Charity

 

Robin died on 19th November 2009, aged 66 years, of cancer.Sadly missed Husband, father, brother and grandfather. He joined the Brigade at 18 years of age in 1961 and did his initial training at Hove. After this he went to Haywards Heath and worked there until 1979, during this time he was promoted through the ranks before leaving at the rank of Station Officer. He then went to the London Fire Brigade until about 1985 when he retired due to ill health after seriously injuring his back and hip. After rehabilation at Hedley Court he did go back in a non operational role at the rank of Station Officer in Fire Prevention and Fire Safety until 1989, when he left the Service for good.
After his retirement Robin spent time serving the public as both a member of Uckfield Town Council and Vice President of Wealden District Council.
After moving to Lincolnshire 12 Years ago Robin enjoyed his involvement with the Lions International Club.Being President twice.

Every 30 seconds in the UK, fire fighters are called to an incident, putting their lives on the line, and often sustaining physical injuries whilst carrying out their duties. The Fire Fighters Charity is here for fire fighters during their times of need, and assists thousands of individuals every year, by providing pioneering treatment and support services.
